Bergamo, Italy OBJECTIVE: Spotting and sightseeing
APPROXIMATE COST: 170zł
the beginning of May Ryanair began to make direct flights from Poznan to the city of Bergamo, located almost at the same foothills of the Alps. As an admirer of such places, after searching for a great promotion did not have to wait long to buy tickets for the tour Wroclaw - Bergamo - Poznan. The cost of the trip was £ 24 per person - on the same route more competitive year Wizz Air. Assumed in advance at the airport overnight due to cost cutting and a sort of another interesting experience. Interestingly, on this trip also lured my dad, who aware of the conditions that await us decided to go ;-) So
in Wrocku stawiliśmy at about 5h before departure. We had so little time we decided to walk around town and something to eat. Here we found a very interesting restaurant - the food on the scale. This may sound strange, but we paid for the kilogram that appeared on our plate. In addition, they were very tasty ;-) Come on now only transportation to the airport, a short visit on the terrace and have already decided to go through security at our gate - we had priority boarding so we did not have to stress that we are not a convenient place on the plane. The machine, which operated the flight proved to be a Boeing 737-800 (what a surprise ;-)) to register EI-EBA. Flight pretty routine, but while landing in rain and low clouds very little potrzęsło. The clearances, however, we were able to enjoy views of the Alps. Soft landing from the east.
reason that he was arriving at the evening time there was a lot of sense to leave the airport only to select a convenient place to sleep. We found only a free bench, and there we decided to wait out the night - unfortunately, about 23 have been chased from it to another part of the terminal where we met a group of about 14 Poles (including overnight). With a sleeping bag, a supply Snickersów and a bottle of mineral water for about 8zł somehow we managed to hold out until morning. Around 7 o'clock in the morning left us with the Frankfurt team composed of Chris, his sister and colleague, Craviec and Banana. Thanks, that just came upon a huge festival held in the city, we did not have to buy tickets for the entire public transport.
How many people were in this day in Bergamo exceeded our expectations. Almost everyone dressed the distinctive hats, element Tyrolean costume. As it usually happens in our travels we started to explore moving "forward." In this way we passed a large part of the city, typical, Italian streets. They have a really fantastic atmosphere, and complete it to the streets of a small square cubes, followed by buses while maintaining centimeters distance between buildings. Part of the city is located at the top, really large - is there a place with a magnificent view over the lower part of the city - we managed to get there. After a series of photo got on the bus and drove to find a place to dine. After the unfortunate searching, we gave up and chose McDonald - here the prices as reasonable, about 6 euros per set (Mc Chicken + French fries + drink).
When we came out on the street next to a march was held which was attended by thousands of people. An interesting addition, which at the beginning of our trip was shocked Italian group aerobatic aircraft Tricolori over our heads - another attraction was the next flight Carabinieri Agusta constantly circulating over the city. I do not think in our city of comparable size (140 thousand. Inhabitants), there were similar "attractions" :-)
however could not take place without negative surprises. On the occasion of the movement of buses throughout the festival takes place quite differently than in a normal day, looking for a place where our bus leaves the airport we heard so many different versions, many people asked ... After a good 30min. exploration, with the Ryanair flight attendant and pilot, who were also confused walked into one of the bus and the driver asked where our bus leaves - he also did not know. But unless we saw the "desperation" has changed the ... lines that had initially planned to go to the one that goes to the airport! Just as we had the opportunity to pass lanes for pedestrians to move out to the middle of the street without any sidewalk. A similar example could be multiplied! It is specific to the nation ... ;-)
Reaching the end of the airport, we went even to a nearby shopping center, "Orio Center" for small purchases. It is situated just opposite the airport, so makes it an interesting place when you have a couple of hours in anticipation of the aircraft. But we did not pogościliśmy there too long, and immediately went to the parking lot at the airport where you can enjoy views of the runway and apron. We spent about 2 hours, and although the movement is there, however, was uneventful really well (probably due to the company.) Then, only a security check and waiting for our plane ...
But it was not the end of the "attractions". It turned out that some flights to Spain, Morocco is canceled due to rising volcanic ash. There would be nothing serious if not for the fact that our plane przylatywał from Ibiza. Dopełniało stress is that the tables might be more communication about the delay of our flight. But we were lucky and our plane landed - heaved a sigh. The return flight quite routine, I slept so much I remember;) interesting accent was landing in Poznan from the city, so we admired the view of the entire old city, and those from the air doing a double impression. At that ended our trip - we already know Bergamo can be a great transit airport for our future forays, they hope soon. Meanwhile, another flight, "already" 24.06 - to Hong Kong :-)
Yours!
